Fat of The Land is Prodigy’s third album released in 1996. The first was too fast for me with some catchy songs there, the second was a huge success and this third one is even better, but different. It’s more heavy you might say, a feeling of power, drums, less electronic stuff, more hardcore stuff…but it works, it works great actually. Right from the first song the album starts you can hear Prodigy have made something different here. A favorite song of mine is “Funky Shit”. Great electronic and rhythm to the song that allows you to dance or just drive in your car nodding your head as listen to this great bit of electronic sound. This is a very good and rich album. Climbitize is a song that starts quiet and then grows until it settles in a fine melody, again a fine melody of electronic music…just like the Prodigy know how to do and just how we as their fans and fans of electronic music like it. Later they released their fourth album and now I am anticipating their new and upcoming fifth album, but I always appreciate that I bought myself this album. This is one of their first works (you might say) and it still delivers the great sound of Prodigy with music you can just turn on, dance like a crazy person, drive in your car with this music as a background music that will boost your car I think…or just escape to different realms just for a while as there will be no words to listen to or trying to understand, just experience the Prodigy at its best hardcore electronic music…with some drums and a whole lot of head nodding and shaking from side to side with the waves of the music! Listen to this album, then we’ll talk some more…

Alphaville was a great band in the 80’s. They are still together and releasing new material but their best work was without a doubt their work in the 80’s. To some of you, the name Alphaville may not say much, but if I play you “Forever Young” and “Big In Japan” you’ll go: “Oh Alphaville, of-course I know them.” Well, you think you do but 2 songs are not enough to know this great band. Yes, these 2 songs were a huge hit back in the 80’s and are still played in radios around the world, but if you really want to know more songs and more music by Alphaville, you should listen to this album. It has 15 tracks and each one delivers their greatness and success of the 80’s. My favourite track is “Sounds Like A Melody”. It has this 80’s bit and synthesizer in it, great music, powerful and charging with energies. If you want a more mysterious melody, you have “For A Million” and “The Mysteries of Love”. Alphaville has here a compilation of their best work up until 1992 and they do not disappoint. This is a great album that has fast and electronic music as slow and emotional one as well like “Lassie Come Home” and “Summer Rain”. In this album, Alphaville shows us what a great band they were back in the 80’s (and still are) and why we should cherish them and admire their great music…after all, we are all….forever young. So whether you know them and want some nostalgic feeling back when you had your weird haircut or new to this bad and it’s music, there’s no better album to start the journey with Alphaville than their best work…their First Harvest and your first experience into the world of electronic music. Fast and slow, it has it all.
