Duran Duran was one of the best performing bands back in the 80’s. They did not lose their touch and sense of music in the 90’s and in the following years, but their best era was without a doubt the 80’s. Great songs like, great music, very jumpy and danceable but also romantic and soft music as well. Duran Duran had it all and they knew how to deliver back then what the people wanted.
My favorite Duran Duran song to date is their song from the Bond film “A View To A Kill”, great music, great rhythm, very dramatic yet very pop as well…this band knew how to produce fine music. There a lot of songs you can dance to like “Hungry Like The Wolf”, “Planet Earth”, “Girls On Film” and more. There are songs more post-apocalyptic and dramatic like “Union of The Snake” and “Wild Boys”. There are romantic and soft songs brilliantly written and still remembered like “Come Undone”, “Save a Prayer” and “Ordinary World”.
Duran Duran was one of the best bands in the 80’s and in this Greatest compilation, you get all of their fine and best hits. You’ll find here music of all kind and understand (after falling in love with the band) why they are still one of the best when it comes to music and pop. They know how to generate every possible feeling through their music and that is why their songs are performed in soundtracks as well as in celebrations and weddings.
Duran Duran is a band for all occasions. So just choose your occasion and the suitable song for it. You can be sure Duran Duran will have a song already ready for you to put on your stereo. One of the best bands in the 80’s is still alive in kicking in our hearts and souls even if its music is 20 years old. When something is good, it never dies…just like this album.
I am happy and honored to write this review.
This is by far the greatest album by the greatest band ever to play music. Yes, Pink Floyd are bigger than The Beatles and Queen...Pink Floyd are a legend.
In 1973 the world got this album by Pink Floyd. I don’t know what they thought the time they recoeded it, I don’t know if they thought this will be their most influential album to date, I don’t know if they knew what they have created here, but what they gave the world is a master-piece, it’s music at its best.
Right from the begining of the album, the atmosphere of the album is of something powerful, something unknown that has set on your ears and has the power to control your mind. Take the song “Time” for example. It starts with a lot of clocks roaring at you for a few seconds...and then it stops...slowly, just to begin a terrific song. Continuing the experience to my favorite track in the album – “The Great Gig In The Sky”, we listen to Richard Wright doing his magic slowly and calmly on the piano...making us feel and believe anything is possible, making us feel free of everything just as we listen to his soft piano music and then there’s Claire with her vocals mixed perfectly with the his music just to discover later she improvised to his music. If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.
This album is Pink Floyd most acclaimed album. It’s one of the greatest albums to ever be recorded and everytime I listen to it, I cherish it more and more to my heart and thank god we have music, we have this kind of music, this kind of magic. No muic shelf is completed without this album, and if you don’t know who Pink Floyd is, well...shame on you...they what our children need to learn about. Just sit down, take the phone off the hook, put on your headphones and close your eyes...let the magic of Pink Floyd reveal itself itself to your mind and soul and know you are listening to the greatest gig in your life.
Another teen star from Camp Rock, Demi Lovato shares similar vocals with Miley Cyrus. Her vocals are rather low and is suited for the rock genre, such as "Get Back", "Lala Land" and "Trainwreck".
A great album from the American Idol winner, David Cook. His strong husky vocals brings out the rock melody well, especially songs like "Light On", "Breathe Tonight" and "My Last Request".
