Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer , 1989 Directed by John McNaughton Like Animal Factory, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (hereafter referred to as Henry ) is a movie I had seen for many years staring back at me from the shelves of video rental stores. Though it’s sensationalistic title makes it sound like a cheap horror movie produced to make a buck or two, Henry is a better film than you’d think. Based loosely on real serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole, Henry starts with a montage showing the bodies of several of Henry’s (Michael Rooker) victims. We then meet Otis (Tom Towles) as he picks his sister Becky (Tracy Arnold) at the airport, taking her back home to the apartment he shares with Henry. The rest of the film tells the story of the next couple weeks, as Henry and Becky get closer, and Henry and Otis commit more murders, later even filming the murder of a family.
