Open Season (2006)

Open Season is animated good fun for children. After a serious misdeed, a city-raised grizzly bear named Boog (Martin Lawrence) is sent to live in the forest just a few days before hunting season begins. His human mom, Beth (Debra Messing) worries that he will not be able to take care of himself because Boog knows nothing about the forest, or how to fend for himself. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Boog meets Elliot (Ashton Kutcher) a one horned deer with a hustle for everything and everyone. After Elliot talks Boog into helping him escape from the clutches of a brutal hunter called Shaw, much to the chagrin of Boog, the two become inseparable. Thanks to Elliot’s antics, he and Boog get into all kinds of trouble as they roam the forest and annoy the inhabitants along the way. Ice Age meets Over the Hedge The Gist Martin Lawrence voices a domesticated bear staying with his caretaker, Debra Messing. One day the bear gets a chance to save an Ashton Kutcher mule dear from a hunter sounding like Gary Sinise. So Ashton thinks he wants to do the bear a favour and releases him from pet captivity. Skeptical at first, the bear later finds his calling when he experiences the wild. What Do I Think? What The Studio Execs Say This has got to be the best animation ever since Toy Story came out!
