Push

Push - Directed by Paul McGuigan, starring Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, and Djimon Hounsou - Rated PG-13 Stupid and dumb, just like you-know-who. This sci-fi thriller, about people with brain powers (not sure what else to call them, if you watch the movie, they list about thirty different kinds, each dumber than the last), trying to save themselves from evil gangs and governments, was a bit of a letdown for me. It's not that I expect great things from a movie constantly compared to Jumper (for the record, I enjoyed Jumper more than this); I expected better from the director (I liked Gangster No. 1 and The Reckoning quite a bit). Sadly, this turned out to be a boring, annoying, stupid movie. I don't want to waste too much time on the plot since it's slightly confusing, but more so because I could not care less about what happened to these characters. Evans is okay, I suppose, but there's nothing about his character that makes him that interesting. He doesn't even seem...

Mystery/Suspense, 2009 (PG13) Starring: Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans Way too much going on in this movie for it to be any good. Watchers, pushers, it went on and on but not in a good way. Fanning is a great little actress though. Even in this bizarre almost senseless movie she managed to deliver a great performance. I was surprised to see her in this. She's way better then this movie. 2 STARS

Starring: Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle, Djimon Hounsou, Nate Mooney Genre: Action / Sci-Fi Rated: PG-13 “Push” the ability to put thoughts memories and emotions into one’s mind. This is one of the many telekinetic abilities in the new movie of the same title from Paul Mcguigan the director of the underrated “Lucky Number Slevin” Push stars Chris Evans as Nick Gant a 2nd Generation “Mover” he has the ability to move things with his mind. We find Nick hiding out in Hong Kong from Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou), the man who killed his father and the leader of “The Division” (a secret government agency that captures people with these abilities and performs tests on them in hopes of developing a serum to enhance their powers). Nick meets Cassie (Dakota Fanning) a “Watcher” who can see glimpses of the future, together they try to find Kira (Camilla Belle) a “Pusher” who escaped The...

Basic Premise There are humans in the world with special abilities -- mind control, telekinesis, incite death by screaming, limited future prediction. Those humans are being hunted by the different government officials of the world and some crime familiars who want to use those special gifts to further their own causes. One organization in particular The Division is more tenacious than most and escaping them is almost impossible... except one girl did. She's being hunted and Nick Gant -- a second generation "mover" or telekinetic -- is her only hope for staying safe. Review I can't wait to see the sequel and I'm sure there will be one. The special effects were icing on a very interesting, engaging, and thought-provoking cake. This is not a watch-and-enjoy movie. You actually have to pay attention and keep up with the changes or else you might get lost. Chris Evans seems to attract movies where he'll be using superhuman powers and he's good at. Dakota Fanning's acting was...
