My Super Ex-Girlfriend

I went into My Super Ex-Girlfriend not expecting a lot and getting a little more than I bargained for. Directed byI van Reitman, Uma Thurman plays superpower-charged heroine with the alias of G-Girl, known to her friends as Jenny Johnson. Luke Wilson's character, Matt Saunders, falls for Jenny as he attempts to capture her purse from a bag-snatching thief. The two plan a date, but Matt soon finds out that Jenny is a little odd. She later explains to him that she is G-Girl, but Jenny is too needy for Matt and he breaks it off with her. The good news is that he's in love with someone else - Hannah Lewis (Anna Faris), Matt's coworker and close friend. The bad news? G-Girl wants to terrorize Matt now that he's broken her heart. Matt accepts the plan, but later learns that Bedlam wants to commit crimes with G-Girl out of the picture. G-Girl...

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

Not really a superhero movie... The Gist Luke Wilson recovers Uma Thurman’s handbag from a snatch thief (sensitive topic nowadays) after a big chase. Thurman is thankful for his act, goes out with him, falls in love with him and then he breaks up with her. Little did he know, she is actually G-Girl, the superhero who saves the world daily! Unlucky for him, she can control her powers but not her emotions… she uses her powers to get back at him. What Do I Think? This isn’t really a superhero movie as many people might think. The eye candy is hardly in place and most of the production of the movie is stripped down to say, a rom-com level? Yep, this is indeed a romantic comedy with the premise of having a superhero to pump up the gags and exaggerate the drama. The writers have derived quite an ingenious way to explore one of man’s deepest fantasies to ‘do’ it with a super strong woman, in mid-air while flying and, wait for it, when you know...
